Custom Mermaids

Welcome to my Custom Mermaid page.

Before you look at my mermaids and seacreatures, please take a few minutes to read this introduction.  It will save you a lot of time in the long run as I have given you things to think about as you look thru my selection.  I have a many different sets and sometimes it can be overwhelming if you don't first read this!

Welcome to my Custom Mermaid page.
Here you can select mermaids that were made from molds of the original 1940's/50's vintage piece and have them designed to match your decor, and even your child's hair/eye color!   My item cost is based on the amount of time it takes me to create the item and the materials cost. I use only the best products including professional paints, vintage flowers/jewelry and Swarvoski rhinestones to attain a professional look rather than a "home-made" look.  The only thing I buy from a hobby store is glue.  My copyright signature is on the back of the main piece of a set, and I don't sell anything that I would not be proud to put in my own house!

Some things to think about while looking at my selection of mermaids.  Do you.........
want a gloss finish on your set, or do you prefer the matte porcelain look?
like a pearl color with shine, or do you prefer the more opaque look?
prefer a few short eyelashes or long, wispy eyelashes?
have a preference which way the seacreature's eyes are looking (ie right, left or up)?
want gold highlighting like the vintage pieces, or a more modern silver highlighting?
prefer a more vintage look with few embellishments, or do you want lots of sparkle with rhinstones, glitter, flowers/jewelry?
What color Hair/Eye/Tailfin and skintone do you want on your set?

Custom Made Sets
Please note I don't list bubbles with all my sets, but as a service to my customers, if you want a set of bubbles with a bubble-less mermaid you purchase, just ask for a FREE set when you order.  They have to be ordered with the mermaid and you can pick from the bubbles on my Go-With page.  If you ask for bubbles separately I charge you so make sure you ask for the FREE set to go with your mermaid when you order or I'll charge you for them.

#240 - Bradley Seahorse Set - $60

This is a beautiful setof seahorses that are 5" tall.  They were made from a vintage Bradley Exclusives mold.  The example set is done in a very vintage pink with gold highlighting.  You can pick another color if you don't want them in pink - and, remember, you can select their eye color too!

#239 - Large 15" Mermaid Pinup - $110

I just did a trade with a customer for this beautiful, large, sexy vintage mermaid. The painting on it I'm not to crazy about but I was so excited about her that I wanted to put up the picture of the original now so people could start ordering her.  I will be making a mold of her next week so in a couple weeks I will post my painting of her.  This mermaid is 15" tall and was made in the late 60's, early 70's.  She is much larger than the mermaids made back in the 40's/50's which were typically 9" tall at the most!  This one is definitely a centerpiece on the wall with maybe starfish or a couple fish, if anything at all.  There has been a new mold made of her but it is awful... it makes her fat and the tailfin tip is really big and bulky and not like the vintage one.  Plus the knees of the vintage one come up off the wall, where the new one is flat to the wall.  You can even see her ribs on the vintage one!  Click on the picture to the right and I show a comparison of the two.  I've had the plastic mold for a couple years but only made 2 from it and didn't offer it as a custom mermaid because I didn't like her.... but this vintage one is fabulous and I can't wait to make her for my customers!  Thanks Shannon for this wonderful mermaid!

#238 - 8 Pc Mermaid Set - 14"x18" Wall Display - $140

If you are tired of seeing the same mom and baby sets, and want a vintage style mermaid set that very few people have, this unique, rare set is for you! This nautical wall plaque set consists of an adult mermaid mom, 2 babies, a set of 3 tiny seahorses, and 2 starfish. The mermaids and seahorses were made from VERY rare Freeman McFarlin 1950's vintage molds.   The set takes up quite a bit of space so could be your only mermaid wall plaque set in a bathroom - as I have them shown together they are an 18" x 14" display. Mom is 8", babies 5" and the seahorses 1.5". The tailfins are a gloss finish and the top part is a matte porcelain - which is how Freeman McFarlin did all their mermiad wall plaques. Please note that I particularly like this set to look real vintage so I do not put any embellishments on it - however, I know some of you like flowers so I have one picture of mom with flowers I could add - just mention you want these added when you purchase. There is a new remake of this mermaid but she is much more blocky, her tail doesn't flip out from the wall and her face/body doesn't have near the detail and roundness of this one. Like all my custom sets, you pick the hair/eye and tailfin color.  I particularly like this one in pink and blonde hair as that's how the originals came.

#235 - Diva SeaSprite Mermaid with Short Ponytail  - $40-$140

This is another one of my most popular adult mermaids.  This Diva is 8.5" tall and has a short ponytail.  I have made this mermaid in so many different ways!  There is a wide price range on her because you can have her designed simple with just a colored tailfin, ponytail band with simple flower, and a rhinestone earring for $40, or you can have her loaded with embellishments and sea pets!  The best way to figure out your design on her is to give me your price range and your vision of her - then I can work with you and tell you how I can make her to keep within your budget.  Click on the picture to the right as I have shown some other mermaids I've made in this style to give you ideas - the more intricate the design, the more time she takes me to make, and obviously the higher priced she would be.  Like all my custom sets, you pick the hair/eye and tailfin color.  I used a seamist green shaded with pink on this example set.

#228 - Mermaid Sitting on Jeweled Starfish - $65

This is a realy unique mermaid originally made by Norcrest.  I have designed her with a polkadot bubble, flowers on her bodice, and lots more flowers in her hair and on her tailfin.  The starfish is lined with rhinestones.   The flowers will be coordinated to go with your color choice.  She is 5" tall, with the starfish, this is a 7" display.  Like all my custom sets, you pick the hair/eye and tailfin color.  I used a salmon color for the tailfin on this set.  The flowers will be coordinated to go with your color choice.

#227 - Mermaid Swimming to the Top - $65

This is a wonderful large 8" horizontal mermaid that was originally made by PY.  This beauty has a design very similar to those used on vintage mermaids.... Shells in her hair and tiny beads on her tailfin.  Back in the 50's they liked to use these little beads to symbolize water bubbles on the mermaid.  She looks dynamite in the example blue color but I could make her in another color tailfin or hair color, the center flower would match the tailfin color.  I used silver beads on the tailfin but I also have gold beads.  For this mermaid example, I used a suntan skin tone.  3 light ivory bubbles are included with her.

In the larger picture I show examples with the light flesh skintone and done in a pink with glitter and a green with gold micro beads - different colors and different techniques.  This lovely lady looks great in any colors!

#218 Mermaid in a Tub - $55-$85

This mermaid wall plaque is a hoot!  She is 6.5" tall and made from a vintage Miller Studio mold - the soap came with the set.  You select the hair/tailfin color and let me know what other colors you want to pick up in the flowers that go around the tub and soap (I use ceramic transfers for the flowers).  I have a range of prices depending if you want the flowers on the soap/tub or not, and if you want connected bubbles instead of the soap.  As pictured she is $85.  Click on the picture to see other examples.

#217 Mermaid on shell with pet seahorses - (see prices below)

This is an awesome set made from the rare vintage Ceramic Arts Studio Mermaid mold and a set of Bradley seahorses.  Although the colors in the example are not the choice of many people, I selected them for my example as the original Ceramic Arts mermaid was this color.  A nice pink with blonde hair would look wonderful with multicolored shell and seahorses.  It is a very dynamic wall plaque set and takes up a lot of space on the wall.  The seahorses and shell are painted with an airbrush for seamless blending of colors.   The seahorses are 5" tall.  A really different set!

1.  $110 -  Set of mermaid, seahorses, shell and bubbles as shown
2.  $65 - Mermaid and bubbles
3.  $50 - Seahorses and Bubbles.

#216 Mermaid with Seahorses - $45-$65 Mermaid; $40 Seahorses

This mermaid set I get a lot of different feelings when creating her.  Sometimes I like to do her with a really soft look, and sometimes I like to make fun headdressings on her.  She can be made by herself but she looks great with seahorses too.   The headdressing on the green mermaid is made of seashells and vintage jewelry, plus she has beads on her tailfin - something like that is the $65 price.  The turquoise one is in the $45 range.  The mermaid is 6" tall.  The turquoise seahorses are 2.5" tall and the green seahorses are 3" tall (there are two, see #119 to see both seahorses).  Please note, I no longer use the colored pearl strings for a rein - that came from a fabric store and doesn't hold up in a bathroom like the gold chain or a vintage string of  white pearls I now use.  The white vintage pearls will add $5 to the cost as they are small pearls close together with no string showing in between and were expensive to purchase.

#215 Mermaid with  Bubble - $48

This is a gorgeous mermaid that is made from a mold of a very rare vintage mermaid and is one of my favorites.  She is just so pretty!  Her tailfin has a little sparkle and is a gloss finish.  The top part of her is a porcelain matte finish.  This is a technique used by Freeman McFarlin and the porcelain finish on this lovely girl makes her look even more delicate and beautiful!  The bubble can be solid white or I can put a flower on it like in the picture.  You select the hair color, eye color and tailfin color.  If you want another bubble with her to hand up above her on the wall, just ask for a free one when you order.

#213 - Diva Pinup Mermaid - $95

This is a beautiful diva mermaid that was made from a 1940's vintage pinup mold and was obviously revisted to be a mermaid!  She has crushed shells on her tail and a flower cinching the mermaid tail at the bottom.  In between her breast are 3 rare Job's Tears shells (cannot be found any more) and then some shell slivers going down as ribbon from the Job's tears.  The flowers in her hair are from vintage jewelry, your flowers will be coordinated with your color choices.  She also comes with rhinestone bracelet and a necklace.  Connected stars come with the set, but you could have 3 graduating sized bubbles instead.  She is very tall at about 13"

#212 - First Kiss - $65

This is a wonderful wall display that I made from a vintage Lefton vase!  It is about 7" tall and just sooooo cute!  Look at the big pictures as I show one I made for my mon in red for Christmas.  I put a picture frame backing on it so it would sit on a shelf and she displays it in her bathroom during the holidays.  This set can be done with any color tailfins but I think it looks best with blonde hair and the green gold background.

#211 Double Fin Mermaid - $95

This is a delicate mermaid that is very rare and unique.  She is made from a vintage Enesco mermaid mold and is 7.5 wide and 5" tall.  Vintage jewelry is used for the headpiece and she has just a little bit of micro sparkle glitter on her to give her tailfin twinkle.  You can select the tailfin color and the vintage jewelry and rhinestones  will be selected to coordinate with your color choices and vision of this lovely mermaid.  This mermaid is very difficult to mold and create because of all her parts coming off the wall, ergo her high price.  But she is just so different and beautiful that she will be one of your prized mermaids.

#210 Large Wall display with 3 Mermaids and 2 fish - (see prices below)

This wall display is made from a mold of the vintage Norcrest Sister set and a vintage Bradley set of fish.  It makes a wonderful, very large wall display.   The mermaids are graduating sized from 6" to 3..5".  The tailfins are done in shades of one color... the darker on the largest and lightest on the small one.  Sparkles are applied to the tailfins to make them really sparkle and flowers are added to their hair (also graduating sized!).  The fish are shaded in colors to go with the mermaids and a little bit of sparkle added on their fins also.  This set can be made in graduating shades of a color as shown in the picture, or you can have the mermaids tails in one color shade. The color used on this set was a French blue and light salmon.  The idea for this set came from one of my customers in France.

1.  $150 -  Set of 3 mermaids, two fish and bubbles
2.  $110 - 3 mermaids and bubbles
3.  $65 - 2 fish

#209 Mermaid on Bubbles with Two Fishies - Patterened Tailfin - $75

Wonderful 7" mermaid wall plaque with a patterned tailfin sitting on bubbles that was made from a mold of a vintage Lefton mermaid.  The mermaid comes with two fish go-withs.  Note how great this mermaid's hair is - I used a new paint stain that achieves fabulous results in more realistic hair.   The bubbles will always be white but you can select the other two colors to use.  I have used a Foliage green with Coral Blush that is highlighted with an Ivory pearl.  Just tell me the eye/hair and outfit/fish color!

#208 Mermaid on Seahorse - Patterened Tailfin - $60

This is another mermaid with a patterned tailfin made from a mold of the vintage lefton sisters.  You can pick the hair, eye and outfit color for this wall plaque.  The seahorse will be a lighter shade of the color you choose for the base color of the mermaid tailfin with white highlights and a touch of the color of the flowers on the tail of the seahorse.  The seahorse will have a peach or pink face depending on your color choices of the mermaid. This is made from a Lefton mold and there are 2 mermaids that face each other, both the same design so I have just shown the one.

Note:  you can substitute 3 graduating sized bubbles for the connected star if you wish.

#207 Mermaid Lefton Flower Plaque - $60

This is a cute wall plaque and is really different.  I use a vintage Lefton flower wall plaque and then add a fish and mermaid and bubble on the plaque.  The other two bubbles are placed on the wall.  The wall plaques come with yellow, blue and pink flowers.  I don't paint the flowers on the Lefton wall plaque, they are left the original color so the mermaid is made to compliment the color of the flowers.  Some of the plaques have so much wear to the gold on the side I have to repaint the gold on and make it a wider band - the pink one has the original band and the green one I have painted the band because there was hardly any gold left on the two thin bands.   I can use either of the 2 Bradley mermaids on this plaque (look at #198).  Some customers have asked me to put all the bubbles inside the plaque like the pink one - it's your choice!   The Lefton plaque is about 7" tall.

#205 -  Waving Mermaid with Large Seahorse - (see prices below)

This is really cute wall plaque set - the seahorse is very large, 12" and he is painted with an airbrush and then either silver or gold highlighting hand applied.  The baby mermaid is made from a Bradley Exclusives mermaid but I have revised the mold so that her hand that used to hold an arrow is waving instead.  She looks like she is petting the big seahorse guy!

1.  $85 - Mermaid, Seahorse set - as pictured
2.  $45 - Mermaid and bubbles
3.  $45 - Seahorse and bubbles

#204 Ponytail Mermaid with Large Seahorse - (see prices below)

This is really cute wall plaque set - the seahorse is very large, 12" and he is painted with an airbrush and then either silver or gold highlighting hand applied.  The baby mermaid is from one of the rarest Freeman McFarlin sets.  Her tailfin and headband match the color of the Seahorse.  She can sit on the starfish or can be up close and looking at the seahorse.

1.  $85 - Mermaid, Seahorse, Starfish set - as pictured
2.  $45 - Mermaid and starfish
3.  $45 - Seahorse and bubbles

#200 Mermaid with Pearls and her pet Baby Whale - $110

This is very pretty mermaid and her whale playmate wall plaque set.  The mermaid is so pretty and was originally made by Lefton back in the 1940's.  She is 5.5" tall.  The whale was originally made by Norcrest.  I  have the girls in pearls sold by themselves in #143 if you want her done without the embellishments and whale.  This is a really cute set and comes with the mermaid, whale and a set of connected bubbles.  It makes a very nice sized wall display with all three pieces.  If you want this set done in the colors of the example, I can make you a very similar set.  Other colors I will need to use different embellishments.  She is a sight below and you will never see anything like her anywhere else!

Note:  The set of two baby whales can be ordered separately without embellishments for $40.  See item 119 to see how the two fish and whales look together.

#199 Bubble Babies - $20 each or $55 for the set

Here are 3 mermaid babies that you usually think about when you envision a vintage mermaid baby set because there were so many of them made back in the 50's by individuals, and also Norcrest made a bubble baby set.  For this set, I used a mold from the vintage Japanese chalkware set.  Their tailfins are a light pink and there is a vintage pink flower in their hair.  The hair color is a platinum pearl with a very light touch of pink.  The bubbles, tailfin, and hair have just a touch of silver glitter on them.  The baby sleeping on her bubble comes with a extra set of 3 connected bubbles, the baby kissing the bubble comes with a shell to sit on, and the guy looking at his bubble has two starfish.  You can order these with any color tailfin - the flower will be matched to their tailfin color, and the hair will have a slight bit of that color brushed in.  You can also select if you want gold or silver glitter.  They are in about the 5" height range.  Since a lot of people just want one of these, I sell them separately or as a set.

#198 A & B - Cuties Riding Fish - $55 each; $100 set

This is an adorable set made from the Bradley Exclusives mermaids and the Freeman McFarlin fish.  The mermaids are not attached to the fish, so they can be sitting on them or the fish can be placed elsewhere.  The mermaids are about 4" and 4.5".  In this example I did the set in all pink.  The headdressing is made from vintage flowers -  I have more of these flowers to duplicate the headdress in pink .  If you want a color headdressing different than pink, I will select different vintage flowers that give a similar look.  When ordering just one of them, refer to the mermaid on the left as 198-A; and the mermaid on the right as 198-B.

The set of two fish can by ordered for $50.

#197 - Mermaids with Fish - (see prices below)

This is a wonderful mermaid set made from the Bradley Exclusives mermaid mold.  They are about 7" tall.  The set to the right was made to look very vintage.  Stain was used on their hair to give a lot of depth to the hair color, a light vintage pink was used for the tailfin color, gold is applied as highlights to the bubbles, fish and tailfin... even the glitter used on the body of the tail is a course vintage glitter.   That's right, I purchased a number of small containers of 50 year old glitter to use on the ones I want to have a very vintage look.  I also did the eyelashes a lot shorter than I usually do as that's how they were on the vintage pieces. I think solid white bubbles go better with this set but you can have them either way, with some gold highlighting on them or solid white.  Be sure to click on the small picture to see some other sets I've made with different colors and techniques of these gals.  Although the sister on the right originally had her eyes closed, Iam often asked to paint them open so that is an option.  I have also been asked to put elaborate headdressing on them.  They look wonderful with some expensive vintage jewelry in their hair.  They also look really good with white hair.  Please specify if you want mermaid A or B - and on B specify if you want her eyes open or closed. Note that I can paint the fish a different color than white also.

1.  $60 each; $110 set - the ones as pictured to the right
2.  $50 each; $90 set - ones done with hair color (no stain), and either no glitter or regular glitter (not the vintage glitter)
2.  $70 each - the ones in the larger picture with elaborate headdressings.

#196 Mermaid on Shell with Whale - $110

This is wonderful mermaid set that was made form a mold of the 1950's vintage Lefton mermaid and Norcrest baby whale.  Some people have not liked the headband on the whale so he can be made with just his cute bald head, or flowers instead of the rhinestones.  I can do it in other colors, but the embellishments will change with colors other than what is shown in the example.  You will be shown what I select with your colors and approve it before it is placed on the set.  The set comes with the mermaid, whale and two starfish with rhinestones in the middle.  The mermaid is 5.5" tall.

Note:  The set of two baby whales can be ordered separately without embellishments for $40.  See item 119 to see how the two fish and whales look together.

#195 Mermaid sitting on Bubbles - $59

This mermaid is made from a mold of the vintage Norcrest mermaid.  Make sure you look at the big pictures at how unique her tailfin is coming off the wall so far.  You could stick one of your shells or fish under her instead of the bubbles that go with her.  She is a little over 7" tall.  If you want a flower in her hair and/or earrings, I could add that for no additional charge.  I could also add a bra on her for no additional charge.  You can order her in any hair/eye and tailfin color.

#192 Pinup Mermaid Sisters - $65 - $80

This is a beautiful set of mermaids made from a very rare set of vintage pinup mermaids.  The originals were done with a black tailfin and bare breasted.  They are good sized mermaids at 10.5" tall.  The set in the example is done in turquoise with sparkle and tiny beads on the tailfin/outfit and a flower in the hair.  3 bubbles are included with the set.  You can order them in any color hair and tailfin.  The flower will be coordinated with the tailfin color.  You can also order these more like the originals where the tailfin starts at the waist and they are bare breasted.  The price for the ones like the originals ist $65; like the example to the right is $80 as the beads take extra time to apply.

#191 Sailors Valentine Mermaid Set - $135

This mermaid set is done in the Sailors Valentine tradition which consists of making designs out of seashells.  The tailfins are embellished with natural Apple Blossom shells that have a pink middle.  Crushed Rose Cup shells are also used on the tailfin and slivers of shell are used as ribbons.  The center of the flowers are tiny snail shells.  This set takes a lot of time to create but it is a true work of art when it is complete.  Like all my auctions, you can pick the hair/eye color and tailfin color. The green I used on the example set to the right is a medium green with a pearl finish.  I have also used a lighter seafoam green that looks very vintage and natural with the pink shells.   Turquoise, blue, pink and peach also look lovely with these natural pink cup shells. Please note that I have started taking the tailfin color up to cover the breast as I think it makes the piece flow better so unless you tell me not to do that, the breast will be covered (see the example in turquoise in the bigger picture).  I have the real small shells for the flowers on the hair (like the example) or I can use bigger shells for the hair flowers (2-3 times as big).  Personally, I like the bigger flowers in the hair but you tell me which you want me to use in their hair - small or large.

Some variations of this set I have been asked to do was to make a more extensive headdressing on the mom, put pearls in with the shell design, give them all pearl earrings, and add more flowers to extend down mom's tailfin.  I can do anything you want but to add more things to the set I have to charge you for my time and materials.  To add a more extensive shell design on mom like the turquoise one will be an additional $25.  If you want pearl earrings or a few pearls put in with the shell design, I won't charge you for that.

The hair colors shown are medium brown for mom, dark brown for one baby and blonde for the other baby.  Mom is 9.5" tall and is 1" taller than most adult ponytail mermaids you see because she was made from a vintage Freeman McFarlin mermaid mold.  The fish and babies were also made from vintage molds (Japan).

Just the adult with shell design is $85

#190 Mermaid Mom and Baby Wall plaque Set - $85

This is one of the most retro 1950's mermaid wall plaque sets! There is a mom, baby, small seahorse and 3 graduating sized bubbles. Mom is 8.5" tall.  This one her tailfin comes down REAL low... if you want me to raise the tailfin up, I can do that.  You can order your set in with different eye, hair and tailfin color. This set is made from a really rare 1940's Freeman McFarlin mermaid set. I have included a picture of the set as it appears in Arleen Smith's reference book of 1940's/50's bathroom decorations. The original was only made in pink and they didn't make many sets.

#187 Patterned Tail Mermaid Sister Set - $150 ($75 each)

Beautiful 8" tall sister set of mermaids with patterned tails.  This set was made from a very rare set of Lefton mermaids.  Each has poofy hair and tailfins with a wonderful pattern of flowers.  For the example I used pink glitter on the hair pearls, and applied rose rhinestones on their necklaces.  The earrings are a lighter pink rhinestone.  I have also done these with white pearls in the hair and just painted the necklace gold (the raised necklaces are in the mold).  A really beautiful set and like all my custom auctions, you can pick the colors!

#186 - Merboys Lounging - $85

These are the merboys that were made to go with the Norcrest mermaid in #195.  They are very different looking and each appears to be hanging on to their hair.  I think they look like boys but if you put flowers in their hair, they can look like mermaids!  The older brother is 5.5" tall and they have a pretty glitter on their tailfins.  If you want them as mermaids, I will add a flower in their hair.

#185 Mermaid Trio Shelf Sitters - $75

This is such a darling set of 3 mermaids and they sit on a shelf.  They are a about 3" tall and the white shell is included with them (I could include a starfish instead if you want).  Be sure to look at the large picture as I have shown each one sitting on the shell - none of them are attached to it so you can position them any way you like them.  This set can be ordered in any tailfin and hair color.  You can even order it where each one has a different hair and tailfin color.  The gloves, glitter, flowers and tiny beads around their chests will be coordinated with your color choice.  This set goes wonderful in a bathroom but also looks great in a bedroom or living room.  The picture shows the set done with blonde pearl hair and pink pearl outfits.

#183 Barbie Mermaid - $55

This is a pretty mermaid wall plaque that my customers named "Barbie."  She is made from a vintage Freeman McFarlin mole and is 8" tall.  Although her tailfin was made to show a lot of her behind, some people have asked me to raise up the tailfin color and I can do that if you want.  She just screams retro and is the look every manufacturer tried to capture back in the 50's.   I also include a starfish and 3 bubbles.  Favorware made a reproduction of her but it is no where near the detail on this beauty.

#182 Mermaid with Baby - $65 with beads; $95 with shells on tailfin

This is a pretty mermaid mom with short hair, a ponytail baby, bubbles and a small fish.  The picture shows some small beads on her and the baby's tailfin and hairband.  You can have the beads in gold or silver and she can be done in any hair/eye/tailfin color.  She is about 8" tall.  I can add a shell design on this set but because I will also be using the tiny beads, the shell design will not be as extensive as the Sailor Valentine set in #191

Note:  The set of two baby fish (one not shown here) can be ordered separately for $40.  See item 58 to see how the two fish look together.

#180 Seahorse Family - $55

Pretty family set that was made from a 1950's vintage mold.  I have made the babies as go withs for some of my mermaid sets as they look so cute mixed in with mermaids!  The set in the example is made in Pink and Ivory with sparkle on the backs of the seahorses and gold fins.  The mom is a little over 7" tall and the babies are a little over 2.5" tall.  This set can be made in any two color combination (ie,  pink with ivory belly, blue with yellow belly).  The face will be pink unless you want it white or ivory color.

Note:  The set of two baby seahorses can be ordered separately for $40.

#179 Chubby Faced Kewpie Seaponies - (see prices below)

This baby seahorse set is SO cute.  The little seahorses have such cute chubby faces!  They are 5" tall and can be done a variety of ways... be sure to check out the larger pictures with examples.  An airbrush is used to get a nice blending of colors.  These little cuties just beg for glitter but I make them with and without glitter.   If you look at the larger picture, you will see a set in the same colors with glitter... then you will set a blue/pink set where I have added a lot of glitter.   They come with bubbles and you can have heart bubbles or round bubbles.  Please note I no longer make the ones with hair as I can't find that long boa anymore (it was a vintage piece) - I do have shorter boas I could add on as hair if you wanted hair.

1.  $55 - As pictured to the right
2.  $60 - with glitter
3.  $75 - with hair

#178 - Doll Baby Mermaid - $68

This is a really cute mermaid wall plaque and quite large at 9" tall.   I add some pretty flowers to her hair to go with her outfit and put a small shell in her hand (the shell varies with each set).  Two tiny starfish are included with her.  This is a one of a kind set that was made by Debi Jo Ford from a vintage doll used as the model  - modifications were made (obviously) to make this wonderful mermaid wall plaque.  I purchased the mold from Debi Jo and you will not see this set anywhere else.

#177 - Horizontal Mermaid with Gold Hair - $65

This is a very elegant mermaid but still retains the child like look in the face.  She is 7" long and comes with a set of connected bubbles.  The original came with gold hair so that's why I like to create her this way; however, you can select something other than gold.

#175 Standing Mermaid - $55 each

This mermaid wall plaque set is so unique, they look to be standing on their tailfins!  They were made from a vintage Lefton mermaid mold.  A starfish is included with the mermaid.   Your mermaid can be done with any hair/eye/tailfin  color.  Just a gorgeous mermaid that is about 8" tall.

#174 Upside Down Mermaid with seapal - $75

Now this is a different type mermaid wall plaque that was originally made by Sega... she is resting on a shell with her tail up in the air!  She can  be made with a starfish friend or a whale friend.   The mermaid is 6" tall and with the shell she is 9" tall.  Her skintone is blended into the tailfin color.  The mermaid is clutching a starfish. Please note that the one with a starfish I cut out the starfish she was holding but I no longer to that as it too a loooog time to cut that out - she will now always be clutching that starfish.  Underneath the mermaid arms is cut out so the shell slips in.

#173 - Dancing Mermaids - $70 pair

This set was originally made by DeForest.  Since I collect Fiesta, and they look to me like the Fiesta dancing lady (mermaid style), I have been selling them to a lot of Fiesta collectors in Fiesta colors.  The color you see is the most desired discontinued Lilac Fiesta color and I have them laying on top of the lilac plate.  But as always, you can select to have them painted in any color.  They are about 5" tall and sold as a set with bubbles.  The flower will be coordinated with your color choices.

#167Water Baby Mermaid  Diving - $60

Cute mermaid originally made by Lane Creations.  This is the sister to the one below.  She looks to be diving so I like to have her always sitting on something.  The shell or the starfish are unattached.  I have a number of ways I have made this cutie so be sure to look at the larger pictures.  Very cute and unusual mermaid sisters that are called "Water Babies" in Arleen Smith's reference book of 40's and 50's bathroom decorations.  She is 7" tall.

See example where I used the customer's wall paper design to create a bra for the mermaid.

#166 Water Baby Mermaid Relaxing - $60

This is the sister to the one above.  This mermaid can be made a LOT of different ways also.  Be sure to click on the picture to the right to see some examples of how I have made her.     She is 5 1/2 " long.

See example where I used the customer's wall paper design to create a bra for the mermaid.

#165 - 3 Mermaid sisters with Shell - $95

This is a really cute set of mermaid in which the flowers and jewelry are part of the mold.  They are around 4-5" and make a wonderful, colorful, display with the colors shows.  I can, however paint them different colors and the shell color will be coordinated with the tailfin colors.  What is really cool about this set is that they can be wall hangers, or you can sit them on a counter - Be sure to look at the last picture that shows them as shelf sitters.

#164 - Poor worm and fish - $65

This is an adorable set and one you don't see often at all.  Miller Studio made the worm on the hook but he had a top hat on.  I removed the top hat as I don't particularly care for nautical fish type things with hats.  However, I do have a mold of him with the big black top hat if you prefer him that way.  This set is made in the colors as in the example as I have experimented around with this set and these are the only colors I think the set looks good in.  It is done with an airbrush so there will be a slight variation to the coloring on each set, but for the most part it will look the same.  The worm in about 4" tall.

#163 Mom, Babies, Fish, Shell and Starfish - $95

This mermaid family set has a lot going on and makes a large wall display.  The babies were made from a mold of the vintage Japanese chalkware set.  Mom was made from a Japanese mermaid too but I have stopped using that one and now use the ponytail mermaid in #237 as she has more details - basically the same mermaid, but looks nicer with the set.  You select the hair, eye and tailfin color and the fish, shellfish and starfish will be made to coordinate with colors you choose.  I have made this set where each mermaid had a different color tailfin and then the fish and shell were done in multicolors that looks nice too.  The set comes with mom, 4 merbabies (can cut off hair if you want more boys), two fish, 2 sets of bubbles, a shell,  and a starfish.   Mom is about 9" tall and the babies around 5" tall.   Notice I didn't put flowers in the hair of the two babies on the bottom so they look more like merboys - let me know if you want a flower in the hair of the one on the left so he looks more like a girl.

#161 Kewpie Mermaid - $45; $85 with embellishments

This beautiful mermaid is 10" long and originally made by Christie Lee out of Redlands, California.  Her size plus being horizontal rather than vertical really makes a nice wall display.  She looks great with a simple design of gold hair and colored tailfin, but she looks spectacular with a lot of embellishments!  When I use embellishments, I have the hair color more of a brown than bright gold.  I can put a small piece of vintage jewelry in their hair or I can but a bouquet of flowers.  I have shown a few examples of designs to choose from, each one gives the mermaid a different look... a deco mermaid, a victorian mermaid and a nature mermaid.  :)  Be sure to click on the small picture to bring up the big pictures of these beauties.  Please note each piece of jewelry is one of a kind on the ones on the right so yours will be slightly different - but don't worry, you get a picture to approve before I mail it.

#157 Mermaid with Starfish - can be made pregnant or not! - $65

What a beautiful and unique mermaid.  This is my creation, using a vintage mermaid as the model that I got from a friend of mine in London.  Modifications were made to the original mermaid... one most obvious.  :)  This is a large mermaid standing 10" tall.  There are two beautiful starfish that go with her that were made from an Enesco mold, the largest of which is 6" in diameter.   I always put a pearl earring on her but you can select to not have any jewelry if you wish.  The starfish have fine gemstone sparkles on them..... and the mermaid has just a very little bit sprinkled on her tailfin to give it a very little sparkle. I have a mold of her with or without the big tummy.

Note:  The starfish can be ordered separately.  See my GO-WITH page.

#156 Octopus and Squid - $65

This is a delightful go-with for mermaids.  Ms. Octopus and Mr. Squid.  The set is made in the likeness of the 1950's Miller Studio Octopus and squid set.  I only make this set in the colors shown and in a matte finish to go with the vintage chalkware pieces.  The only choices are the color or the bow and highlights on the top of Mr. Squid's head... you can have either gold or silver.  Ms. Octopus is done in peach and Mr. Squid is a blend of gray and wedgewood which gives the nicest steal blue color.  They are 6.5" and 5.5" tall.   3 Bubbles come with the set.  If you must have a different color, I guess I could do that.

#150 Young Mermaid on Seahorse - $75

This piece is made from a vintage mold of the 1950's Lefton Mermaid on a Seahorse.  -The original had a black seahorse and a magenta tailfin - she was highlighted in gold.  I can make her any colors you want.  She is a beautiful wall display.  The seahorse I paint with an airbrush.

#145 Sailor and Mermaid - $145

What a cute wall plaque set this is!  It is a rather large set with the mermaid 7" and the sailor boy 8" tall.  I put a vintage Coro flower on her head and add a purse - the purse is not attached and if you don't want it, subtract $5 from the price.  If you would like shells added to the mermaid as a shell flower in her hair and some crushed shells on her tailfin I could do that instead of the Coro flower and purse.  That would make a real "Sailor" valentine wall plaque set.  :)  This is a one of a kind set that was made by Debi Jo Ford from vintage dolls used as the model  - modifications were made (obviously) to make this wonderful mermaid and sailor boy wall plaque set.  I purchased the molds from Debi Jo and you will not see this set anywhere else.

#143 Girls with Pearls - $56 each; $100 set

This set was originally made by Lefton back in the 1940's.  They are 5.5" tall.  The little bra and the pearl headband have rhinestones attached to give them some sparkle.  If you don't want the rhinestones, they don't have to be added.  The pictures show a "frosted" rhinestone but I no longer use the frosted rhinestones as I was limited to what colors I could use.  I now use regular rhinestones as I have them in most all colors.  #143A has her ear showing so I put a pearl or rhinestone earring on that ear.  When ordering individually, I include a set of connected bubbles in the same white pearl as the pearls they are holding.  If you get the set, you will receive 3 graduating sized bubbles.  When ordering just one of them, refer to them as 143-A or 143-B.

#142 Pinup Mermaid from the 40's - $75

This is a delightful mermaid and can be made without wings. or a bow instead of the head dressing, or 3 bubbles rather than a star.  She is quite large at 13" She is made from a vintage 40's pinup wall hanging and modified to make her into a mermaid.  Her headpiece will be designed to go with the tailfin colors ou select.  A really pretty, girl that would make a wonderful centerpiece to a display.

#141 Mermaid on Shell - (see prices below)

This is a very unique mermaid on a shell originally made by Lefton.  I have added some pretty vintage flowers and rhinestones in her hair and also on her tailfin to give her an even more elegant look.  She comes with a small seahorse on a chain.  She is 6"x 6 and a rather thick piece.

1.  $78 - Mermaid with seahorse on chain as pictured.
2.  $65 - Mermaid with seahorse on chain but without flowers on hair/tailfin
3.  $50 - Mermaid without seahorse and without vintage flowers on hair or tailfin

#140 DeForest Mermaid and MerBaby - (see prices below)

This set is one of the most elegant sets I make.  It is very dynamic on the wall.  The young adult is 6" tall and the baby mermaid is 3.5" tall.    The set was made from a 1950's vintage DeForest set.  The original set came in only black, turquoise, brown, rose and yellow.  I have kept this set very close to the original look with a special glitter highlighting, and those big dark eyes.  You can select any color tailfin and hair for your set.  Whichever color you select will have the gold highlighting on the tails, gold shell in the hands of the adult, and gold bow on the baby.  If you would prefer a white pearl or silver instead of gold, I can do that too.  3 bubbles are included with the set.  I have also included pictures of another version I do of this set.  It has kind of an Asian look with the oval eyes.  I like to do the Asian set in a Chinese Red wth black hair.... but you can pick another color if you wish.

1.  $85 - Two mermaids and Bubbles
2.  $50 - Mermaid holding shell and Bubbles
3.  $45 - Baby jetting from wall and Bubbles

#137 - Fluffy Mermiad Babies -$115

Now this is a set of wall plaques you don't see every day!  They are 6" and 7" tall and would look wonderful in a child's room.   I can date it and write your child's name on the back along with my signature if this is to be a rememberance of your child's birth. This is a one of a kind set that was made by Debi Jo Ford from vintage dolls used as the model  - modifications were made (obviously) to make this wonderful mermaid/merboy wall plaque set.  I purchased the molds from Debi Jo and you will not see this set anywhere else.

#119 - Ponytail Mermaid - (see prices below)

This mermaid is SOOO cute!  I make her with a lot of different go-withs.  You can order just the mermaid, or the mermaid and go-withs.  The original came with an umbrella and I go all out when making her with that umbrella in that I put a shell flower ini the middle and crushed shells on the ruffle of the umbrella and also on her tailfin.  She is 5" tall.

1.  $75 - Ponytail Mermaid with whale or seahorses and heart shaped bubbles - $75
2.  $85 - Ponytail Mermaid with Umbrella and heart shaped bubbles - $85
3.  $45 - Ponytail Mermaid with heart shaped bubbles or regular bubbles
4.  $40 - Two Seahorses

#115 - Whale Set - $75

This is a reproduction of the Norcrest Whale set.  The babies are tiny little guys only 3" long.  Mom is twice as big as the babies at 6" long.  They would go wonderfully with mermaid, fish or seahorse sets as the babies could be placed looking at the other pieces.  This set is in pink and cream.  Be sure and look at the larger pictures as I show them mixed in with two different mermaids so you can see how well the look displayed with mermaids on the wall..... but they do hold their own just by themselves as a wall display and are a refreshing change from fish wall.  They can be done in any color.

Note: The baby whales can be ordered separately for $40

#107 - Kissing Fish - $25 each

This is a cute set of fish that I sell separately or as a set because sometimes people just need one to put with their mermaid.  They are about 4.5" long so not too big and not too small - they go with a lot of mermaid displays.  I use an airbrush on these and they can be done in any colors.

#106 Mermaid on Seahorse - $48 each; $85 pair (add $8 each for rhinestones)

This is one of my favorite mermaid sets because the eyes are so unique the way they slant upwards on this mermaid.  They were originally made by Lefton and only came in red hair with a greenish tailfin.  I love this set as blondes!  The lower picture I used a polynesian skintone and gave her rhinestone earrings and a rhinestone waist band ($8 extra for the rhinestones).  She looks wonderful in any color and any skintone.  Be sure to take a look at the larger pictures as I have an example of one I made in turquoise also.

There are two mermaids to the set, one facing the right and one facing the left.   Refer to either A or B when ordering.  The tailfin and seahorse are done with a pearl finish.  Each mermaid comes with bubbles, but if you buy the set, only one set of bubbles is included.  When selecting the set and having the tailfins different colors, white bubbles look the best to match the seahorse.  If you buy them as a single you can have white bubbles, solid bubbles the color of the tailfin, or shaded bubbles white and the color of the tailfin.  The mermaids are 7" tall.

#104 - Prince and Princess Mermaid on Waves - $150

This Prince and Princess Mermaid set (without waves and frog) was originally made by Lefton.  Modifications have been made to the molds so there are a lot more flowers on the princess and shells on the prince.  Waves have been made to go with them as well as a frog.  Be sure to look at the bigger pictures to see different ways you can display them on the waves.  On this set I have the princess looking kind of mad because the prince is looking at her frog.  You can have her smiling and the prince can be looking at her, and she can be looking at the frog.   The prince and princess stand 8" tall.  With the waves and the frog, this makes a really large wall display.

#103 Mermaid with Seahorses, Starfish and Bubbles - $75

This mermaid set is one of the most popular for those that don't want mermbabies but want other nautical things to go with the mermaid.    It is made from a vintage mold of the Freeman McFarlin Wide-eyed mermaid and the Lefton Seahorses.   The leash is attached to the mermaid by a hook on her underside by her clutched arms.   I give you a long leash and you can rein them in or out on the hook.   The ends of the leash are embedded in the seahorse collars.    The mermaid is 9" tall and the seahorse is 3 1/2" tall.  You can select any tailfin/bubble/starfish/seahorse color and hair/eye color.

Note: The seahorses can be ordered separately for $40.  The mermaid can be ordered separately for $45.

#92 Mermaid sitting on Shell - $55 ($60 w/expanded headdressing and earrings)

Made from a vintage Bradley Exclusives mold, this mermaid is 4.5" tall and sitting on a shell with her tiny playful fish. A  set of 5 connected bubbles and a starfish are included also.  There is a flower in her hair and all the pieces are highlighted with gold (starfish is solid gold color). Select hair/eye color.  All pieces same base color.  Starfish is always gold and gold highlighting will be used on all pieces.  I have shown two versions of this cute baby mermaid set in #92 just to show you how a different color, adding some gar scales to the flower, putting on earrings, and having her eyes look to the right instead of the left change the appearance of the set. In the 2nd version I use Swarvoski rhinestones in gold settings for the earrings and the flower center.  In the first version I use either a round no hold bead or tiny flower in the middle of the flower on her hair (depending on what goes better with your color choices).  Both #92 and #91 below above can have the gar scales and rhinestone earrings added for $5 extra.

#91 Mermaid Gossip with Fish - 55 ($60 w/expanded headdressing and earrings)

Made from a vintage Bradley Exclusives mold, this mermaid is 4" tall and sitting on a shell getting all the gossip from her fish buddy.  A set of 5 connected bubbles and starfish are also included. Both #92 and #91 above can have the gar scales and rhinestone earrings added for $5 extra.

#90 Mermaid Girl Sleeping on Bubbles - $55

This is a mermaid made from the vintage Bradley girl mermaid and is 3" long.   She has sparkles on her tailfin, on the star and a few sparkles are added to the dolphin.  I only do this set in the colors shown unless you are buying her sisters above and want her to match without the dolphin.

#89 Waving Mermaid with Seahorses - $65

This mermaid wall plaque is made from a mold of one of the 3 Bradley sister wall pocket plaques.  The original had her right hand behind her holding an arrow but I thought she looked better waving so modified the mold. She is 3 1/2" x 5" and the seahorses are 3 1/2" tall.  The leash is embedded in the seahorse collars.  Please note that the chain I use is a real nice thin gold chain.  I do not attach/glue it to the mermaid hand because all the tugging of the chain between the mermaid and seahores can cause breakage during shipping.  You will need to glue it to the back of the mermaid hand when you get it.  You can have your set as in the picture or in different colors... the one in the picture is a kind of coral and yellow.  In the big picture I show one in green and aqua also.  This set looks good in any color!

Note: The seahorses can be ordered separately for $40
