Sandy's Nautical Rescue

Welcome to Sandy's Nautical Rescue

Here you will find unwanted seacreatures that have found their way to Sandy's Nautical Rescue.  My mistreated seacreatures are given a bath, any boo boo's are fixed, and they are taught to behave and stay well groomed so they can be adopted into a new home.  Their new owners wouldn't even know they were mistreated as they look like showcreatures now!  In some cases they have taken on a new look that is much more attractive than how they were first conceived.  Each one will give you many years of enjoyment.

#11 - Miller Studio "Shocked Fish" Set - $35 - SOLD

Here we have Lisa and Trisha.  These girls came to me with a neon green tailfin color, gold lips, no eyelashes and no bubbles.  They really would shock someone on the wall so they weren't loved that much and a lot of the paint had come off them.  Now they are just wiggling around as if looking out of a fish bowl, saying "take me!"  Lisa and Trish were redone with greens and turquoise, nice light lipstick, and pretty eyelashes. I also included two bubbles the same lighter green color.  The finish is a matte porcelain so they feel real silky to the touch and have that matte finish that mose chalkware did back in the 50's.  Someone with greens and blues in their bathroom would really enjoy these two cuties on the wall.   They are 8" tall.

#10 - Vintage Miller Studio Merboys - $36

These are two little merboys I've named Curtie (short for Curtis) and Dane.  Curtie is the one on the left, Dane is on the right.  They must have seen a ghost that frightened them so much they turned white since they were white and gold when they came to me.  I gave them some color and now they are so happy they are picking up all the toys they can find on the sea floor and playing with them!  They are just itching to go to a loving home that needs two little boys.

Miller Studio designed this set in white with gold highlighting, and some sets had just a blue tint to the entire piece.  Their eyes and lips were gold.  They just looked so sad in the original design so I made them more colorful to go with the other mermaids made of that time.  There are no chips and cracks on the pieces, they are just repainted.  Our boys are 5.5" tall.

#9 - Vintage Enesco Mermaid with Sparkle - $36

This is an adorable rescue-cutie named SusieQ.  This Enesco mermaid had a big tumble off the wall and broke the left side of the umbrella in a number of places.  The only way I could make her cute again so someone would want to adopt her was to put some micro glitter sparkle on her umbrella to cover the repaired umbrella..  She turned out very pretty so I made her a set of the Enesco raindrop bubbles and did them also in the micro sparkle.  This sparkle I use is wonderful as there is no color and it picks up the colors around the piece.  I actually think she looks better than the original, and you can't even tell she had a terriable experience falling off the wall... but she knows better next time to let go of that umbrella when falling!  She is 4.5" tall and has the Enesco number E-2163 on the back.
